I took my Focus into Canadian Tire because the engine light came on (diagnostic there is much less than dealership). They said it was a faulty TPS and they would have to order a new one in. They reset the engine light (turned it off) and said I would be ok to drive home. I drove home and the light did not come back on. The car drives fine. Do I really need a new TPS ($90 installed) or did it just come on accidentally?

Just as a side note. It is a manual and I bored out the throttle body. I did that mod over 50,000 kms ago without any problems so I don't think that is the cause of this error.
