What's the trick for removing the water pump? I've removed all the fasteners and pulled it out but it's trapped between the engine and the unibody. I can't see by removing anything else that this would help. This can't be that hard......

I have done FWD water pumps before, but not yet my Focus. Did you remove the pulley? Just a suggestion-this might be good time to change out the timing belt.
You have to loosen the engine mounts & lower (or raise I can't remember) to make it clear. I'm assuming you removed the pulley from the pump to make it easier. I had to do this when removed the pulley itself (wouldn't clear the frame rails) be VERY careful & use jacks & an engine support if you have one.
