I am about to change the oil and instead of changing rachets tell I get the right one, I thought I'd ask here first. I should write it down somewhere but usually I just fiddle around till I get the right size. What size is the plug on the Zetec engine?

I ended up going this route. However I have run into a promblem in the oil filter is way to tight. So I am proabably going to put a screwdriver thru it. I tried the metal band type oil filter wrench but that was no good. I might try the other one where you can attach a ratchet to it. Thats what I get for letting my friend tighten my oil filter........
If you have to use a screwdriver, make sure you punch it thru near the very top of the filter, so you don't drive it thru the center post. They should basically only go on hand tight (and even then, they are stubborn to remove!). Lightly oil the seal of your new filter with clean oil before putting it on...
Also, add some clean oil into the filter and let it soak thru before putting it in the car. This way, the engine doesn't have to wait for the oil (and spin 'dry'), while the pump is filling up the new filter with oil!
