Why would you want the 2.3L over the 2.0? What are the Major Differences. There really isnt that big of a HP or Tq Difference.
I have an 05 ZX3 2.0L ATX and im planning on doing an MTX swap and i figured if i was doing that i might aswell just get the 2.3L but i cant justify the cost for the little HP and Tq Difference. So someone please give me some suggestions.

Haveing both a 2.0 and 2.3 the differences are clear.
The 2.3 has more torque everywhere(longer stroke), which will equate more hp. The only thing the 2.0 can do better is rev higher.

I wouldn't get the 2.0 after having the 2.3. I am selling my car, the 2.3, but tried to get the wife to sell the 2.0 instead. No luck.

okay so i guess my question is, Is it worth doing an engine swap to the 2.3 because im gonna do the MTX swap Reguardless

and your 04 2.3 had 3.41 gears and the 07 2.0 has 3.82..

I would suggest that rather than swapping your entire driveline and messing with all the other crap that goes into an ATX to MTX swap, including ECUs and all the other junk, you'd be much better off getting rid of your current car and finding something that has what you want.

Car is Practicaly new. its an 05 with 30k miles i got it 5k miles ago and iv done Custom 2-tone paint, Big Stereo, and Steeda Intake.
Thing is its hard to find a 2.3 up here in Alaska. There are a Few SVTs, 2 or 3 Saleens, iv only seen one ST. and a couple with the SAP.

Its just the fact of trying to find a 2.3 with a stick forsale is gonna be pretty difficult.

Sell you mine. :lol: If you are super hellbent on changing the tranny, go for it. But I personally don't think an engine swap would be necessary....unless you want to spend some money. You can always just send me a chunk of cash, too. :lol:

haha, well i love my car and i love the paint cause i did it all myself and it turned out great and professional. So i think im just gonna start gathering the parts for a Tranny swap.

yeah i dont think that the 25hp/tq diff is really worth swapping motors, or cars for that matter..

yeah especially if youre paying someone else.. your talkin $2000+ to get the new motor and have someone install it.. for 25hp/tq.. id rather take that money and make my 2.0 faster than the 2.3..

you can still make good power from the 2.0s.. look at focussports STC car.

if i were gonna do a motor swap.. id do a v8 conversion :) course thats more involved.. but yeah the 2.5L would be the way to go motorswap wise IMO

My main goal is to get 350whp and that is easily possible with a 2.0l so i think im just gonna find me an MTX-75 and all the Componates needed and do the tranny swap. Only thing that concernes me is the Wiring and Computer side of it all. Advice?

on the duratec the fuel system should be fine, other than needing larger injectors..

built lower end and turbo tho yeah
