Wreck your Enzo? Blame it on Someone else? GO TO JAIL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

KNBC-TV is reporting that an accident at about 6:30 this morning on Pacific Coast Highway at Decker Canyon (an area familiar to those SoCalers that run the Mullholland Madness every autumn) that injured the passenger was the result of the driver speeding in his Ferrari Enzo as speeds over 200mph.

They'd like to know for sure, except after the car was wrecked, the driver got out and ran off!!!!!!!

I'm trying to track down photos..... the news just had some overhead shots that they haven't posted yet.

That's amazing. Ferraris are generally designed to save the engine before the driver. I'm sure we've all seen more than one set of pictures where the monocoque splits at the firewall. :what:

I've heard a rumor on another forum that they were coming home from a party. Draw your own conclusion.

The same source says that this guy owns another Enzo, and both were Euro-spec.

Edit: Well, if the driver got out and ran away through that open door, it supports the Euro rumor.

you mean if it was GB or Japan spec. or any of the british commonwealths. if it was from mainland europe it'd be LHD

yea that wreck looks bad, but I wonder how they know the speeds were onver 200mph? if they hit something at 200mph, there wouldnt be one single piece of that left. sounds like the media typically adding their brand of interest to the story.

sucks ass, nice car. its probably his daddies and didnt wanna get caught, most people who can afford a car like that either, cant drive well enough to own one, or know how much they paid and dont push it.

exactly. the media see its an exotic so they say it was doing 200mph. if they were going that fast i think theyd be dead. no matter what safety devices are in the car. plus i dont think the enzo has any of that.

Yeah, I'd like to know how you could hit a pole in an enzo, rip the car into two pieces, and just get out and run away from it. If it didnt kill you it'd definately knock you out from the impact and the concussion from it going 200mph. They couldnt have been going 200mph...

Edit: Nice pics....YARD SALE!!

Dibs!

I just heard on the news that the passenger/"witness" who was still with the car when the authorities showed up is reported to be the owner, and was well over the legal limit for BAC. Maybe the driver fled the scene all the way around the car to the passenger seat... The report also said that "they" were racing a Mercedes in an effot to "resolve" something that started at a party in Beverly Hills the night before.
