Lets see. Focus sales are way up, so they cancel the SVT Focus. F-150 sales are way down, so they continue with the SVT F150.:bang:

Ford logic is beautiful. No wonder they are doing so well for themselves.
Very true:lol:

There hasnt been a truck quite like this in the past before though, I mean a couple TRD and Nismo type creations, but nothing of this offroad magnitude. I dont necessarily think it's a bad idea as much as it is bad timing.

Wait for the next focus. I'm thrilled about this for 2 reasons. 1 It's SVT and the name is apperntly staying attached and 2 ford could use something like this and I mean that seriously. Where I live there are so many done up f-150's it's amazing. This will sell. Not a major volume maker but good none the less. Back to the svt part. If svt can make this it means hope for future models. I doubt svt would again put their name on something they knew wasn't either A-going to kick ass or B-not exist very long.

Maybe you don't watch the news?
Ford just RE-Hired 1,000 workers due to Higher-Than-Anticipated F-150 Sales.
BTW, the Truck looks NICE. (Even with the Camo)
I wish my Dad had waited another year to buy a new truck... He bought an '07 F-150.
This one looks WAY more usable as a TRUCK than the Lightning, which was so "Street Only" that it just wasn't much of a "TRUCK".
:)

thats what I'm sayin. I didn't nec see any "thrust" from the front wheels. Most trophy trucks are 2wd anyway.
You may be right.
Tough to tell if it's 2WD, or just Rear-Biased 4WD.
Either way, it's more "TRUCK" than the Lightning, which was like a Tall car with as bed.

Yeah but where do you get Factory prerunners? This is a "Factory" directly from Ford.

odd how allot of people here liked the lightning cuz it was a low street truck...

A few people mentioned my new truck would be cooler if i could LOWER it somehow (since it is really tall from being a 4x4.)

Differetn regions different taists i guess.
Well, In My case, it has nothing to do with "Regional Tastes", it has to do with "Practicality".
There are MANY "Low Rider" Trucks around here, but IMO, they are Stupid, since they are basically a 2-seater car with a bed that is seldom used.
If you NEED a TRUCK, then D***IT, BUY a TRUCK, Not just something "Truck-Shaped".
A TRUCK should be able to Go Off-Road, Haul Hay, Haul Firewood, Pull a Boat or Horse-Trailer, traverse Snow or Mud, Climb Steep and Rough Hills, and not get stuck in wet grass.

Since when does off road capability make a truck?

The Lightning was a fully functional street truck, it could haul anything you threw in the back and had full towing capacity.

It also handled like no other production truck I know of.

It's like comparing apples and oranges.

I like the Lightning, BUT, I know that I've never seen one used for anything other than "Cruising", Commuting, Drag Racing, or Auto-X.
It certainly isn't a vehicle that one would "Work" with.
"Work" and "Off Road Play" are the domain of the Truck.
Cars have the "Pavement Fun" covered. Cars are Certainly at a disadvantage on the "Work"/Offroad" side.
The RARE uses of a Street Truck's bed can Usually be covered by a good hatchback, with the exception of only the Largest Furniture.

You should have qualified this statement with "to me anyway" clause. Different strokes for different folks.

A truck is a vehicle with a cab and an open bed. That is a truck in it's purest form. Now, there are all kinds of trucks for different purposes. Being able to go off-road does not make it a truck since there are non-truck vehicles that are off-road capable.

So, just because you wouldn't use a truck a certain way doesn't make it any less of a truck.

I'm not saying that a truck needs to be "Baja Ready", I'm just saying that it should be ABLE to get off of the pavement without hiking it's knickers and wincing.

I saw a test mule chassis of this truck and it had Fox suspension components and a 6.2 L gas engine. The engine had "powered by SVT" on the valve covers similar to the GT500. It also had aluminum lower "A" arms w/ SVT cast into to them. This truck is the real deal!!!!
