The turbo may be capable of spooling to 25psi but I highly doubt it will be able to force 25psi of air through your motor at 6000rpm.

I agree. They compared it to there Acura Integra's at the shop that run 12s and 10s. I didn't say the Focus could handle it, I just said the turbo itself would most likely handle 25psi worth of spooling.

Sigh... Ooops.

Gawdamn I'm bad with names. Still, Iceman, Sandman, both with 7000 posts... I don't know how long I've been confused.

Iceman: Sincere appologies. Didn't mean anything serious by it. I'll leave the embarrassing mess up to prove how stupid I am.

Sandmann: The **** You still stands.

Tom, Do you have an idea yet how much your Gude intercooler setup will cost?

The Gude kit looks nice, and with an intercooler I am even more interested, although I am a bit hesitant to buy anything from them.

Still leaning towards the Fmax kit for now though.

Just an update everyone. I did a compression test to give me some peace of mind that I didn't cause little if ANY problems when I detonated. All 4 ports pulled a nice 175psi-190psi on the meter (Like new!). So that really, really, really gave me alot of peace of mind knowing I didn't damage anything (It scared me to see that blue-ish smoke come out my exaust in clouds for 20-30ish seconds but stopped and never came back).

So, I will be staying out of boost knowing everything is O.K, until I get Toms chip (I have the injectors, need to get the ProMAF).

As for the rep GUDE Kit has earned as bad, like I said, it's flawless. Despite RoRo's situation, the kit runs flawless (And the customer support is getting better), I recommend it to anyone. Put it this way, if your in the market for a good kit and want more bang for the buck down the road, go with the GUDE kit. If you want a "slap on and go" type deal, get the AeroCharger.

Supposedly the GUDE Kit maxes boost at 15psi (But I've heard otherwise from Cybernation Motorsports, some say the same model turbo WILL spool to 25psi), I don't know which is true or false, but most of it is speculation. Either way, the GUDE turbo makes SERIOUS power. The Aerocharger is CARB Legal tho, the GUDE isn't (GUDE goes inplace of your cat, exact same spot).

All in all, both are great kits. I can't wait to start really pushing this car when I get the fuel managment finished off!

thats great, seems like another satisfied gude turbo owner soon to be with toms setup...awesome

When i looked at that kit, it looked good, its just weird how someone big like gude didnt make a stage 2 or something with intercooler

I think the main reason they didnt is that there was no point, they had no way to do fuel management then and i think still now, so more boost with an intercooler would be pointless...oh well, im sure toms setup will be sweet for an intercooler.

"Hell, I thought I blew a cylinder (I started burning up a load of fuel, and smoke start flowing out of my exaust), but it stopped. So I assume that deto threw some excess oal paste my cylinder rings and burned it up. "

sounds like fun hope your enjoying your kit..

i won't calling a turbo or forced induction system because there is absolutely no fuel management at all what so ever. but hey at least he is selling a way to put a turbo on a focus.

i'd say just get bigger injectors you should be fine

"Anybody care to explain why its deto-ing on 100 octane?"

well i don't care what octane you run if your only getting little dropletts of it for fi you will still deto there is simpley not enough fuel..

Dejomo, where are you?
This will once again show that Gude sucks, if he will take the time to post what happened to him.
Here is a hint.....motor only lasted till the first time he floored it. I'll let him explain why.

From what I read (without putting words in RoRo's mouth, and no pun inteded), South Florida Performance told him there was something wrong with his wastegate (And it was putting out 10psi), and to NOT step on until he gets everything addressed. Well, he went out and took it for a hard drive going 100MPH when the problems occured (Meaning he had to of been at 4K RPMs to be doing 100MPH in 5th, meaning atleast 6lbs of boost, I detonate BAD anything past 4!!). That is the problem, it's both the customers fault and GUDEs fault for not addressing the wastegate on either end.

The kit is fine, it works flawlessly for me. It's not the KITs problem it produces so much power my car can't handle it without proper fuel managment, it's FORDs and MINE if I don't address it.

Don't hate on a kit that puts out power to blow the motor, hate on the person that can't control it... (no pun inteded).

I'd say that the kit is probably fine since most people could use the same components and do their own kit .. I'd just like to think of it as INCOMPLETE ..

Its not like they make the turbo and make the wastegate and so on.. i still think its gude's fault for not addressing it but hey .. thats just me

incomplete I say
