I'm not one to complain about gas prices...

But chickity-check this out...

I had to run to the convenience store. I took the Explorer, since it was low on gas anyways. Today, regular fuel jumped from the 2.99(9) a gallon that it has stuck to since july 4th, to 3.09 almost everywhere. On top of that, places were charging around 3.29 for premium (30 cents higher than regular rather than 20 like usual).

Well as I cross the street to the convenience store, I see something odd. 2.93 a gallon, cheaper than I've seen it since june. Just yesterday it was 2.99 a gallon there, so I find it odd they cut 6 cents off the prices when everyone went up by 10.

Then I get to the pump.... $3.09 a gallon, same as everywhere else.

I was an idiot and forgot to have a reciept printed and the guy inside is a flippin' n00b (never seen him before) and couldn't get a reprint either. I'm seriously going to rattle the manager's cage when I get up in the morning though. He's going to get an ear full!

Is there anything I can do (aside from not shop at the only place within 10 miles of my place that sells decent fuel?)

you at a gas station... i can think of many things to get revenge.

[beavisvoice] Fire! Fire! Fire! he hehe hheheh heh [/beavisvoice]

but in all actuality, shouldnt they keep a copy of the reciept on file in their computer system? If you go back, usually within 48 hrs, they should be able to check the computer and pull up an old reciept.

Yep.

I work at a QuikTrip. Last night we went from $2.87 for regular to $3.29...

Thank god I got a full tank at $2.87. $.42 more a gallon is pretty hefty. Of course, that'll last a few hours then it'll start to tick down bit by bit but still...

Every gas station is 30+ cents more for 91 over 87. :dunno:

They normally go up in about 10 cent increments for 87, 89, and 91.

Around here it was 5 cents difference up untill two months ago. Then everbody went to 10 cents. Last week when I needed gas I found that they all had bumped 93 up to 20 cents more than 89.

Something similar to that happened the other day at the gas station I work at (Albertson's Express)-we had the correct price (like 2.80something) on the signs, and in the computer, but for some reason the guy at the pump was charged 3.0something per gallon. We figured out the difference (after him yelling at me telling me I was pocketing the money...yeah...from his credit card....and trying to scam him) and gave him the difference in cash.

Then again, Albertson's is one of those places that if you drop your eggs on the way out to your car and are upset enough, if it costs them a dozen eggs to keep a customer, you get new eggs.

At my station, there's no way to pull up anything having to do with credit cards/pay at the pump. Just the receipt that prints at the pump, and the only way we can even see if they're pumping/how much is when they're actually doing it. Then again, our software is crinkly and outdated and you can't prepay for gas with a credit or debit card (just cash and check).
