I bought both of my MCS's for MSRP, on top of that there are STILL 6-9 month waiting lists on the west coast for custom ordered MCS's.

Funny how people pull info out of their arses to make a point. I can find you a few $24k Foci at Dealer Price and $35k Mustang GT's at dealer mark up if you want. But does that mean anything to us here on the Jet????

I laugh loudly at those that call the standard Cooper underpowered. Sure, it isn't overpowered, but a sub-9 second 0-60 jaunt is more than enough to get moving... faster than most SUVs, anyway.

I also like these cars, but 0-60 in sub 9 seconds is acceptable in a "fun" car to you? I'd be asleep by then. Even the incredibly slow econo car that we all drive accomplishes mid 8 second 0-60 times. As for the S being "quick," I am not really sure how you can consider a mid 15 second forced induction car quick and even the JCW package is slow as hell. Make these mid-low 14 second cars and they'd be a hell of a lot more fun and worth the money.

I am still thinking about getting a Mini. I have loved them since they first came out. I have driven a regular Cooper and it was fun. I like the way they look, and I think it's a fun little car. It isn't a practical car, but who cares? That's not why you buy one. I am debating between a Mini or a Z right now, both which are impractical to daily driving, but I don't care...the one person ever in the car is me and I have nothing to haul/carry around.

It's all about personal preference... If your going to comment on how small a Mini's interior is, have you looked at other cars? The Mini interior can't be any bigger than a Z, or Ford GT, Vette, etc. If you think about it, all sports cars (I'm NOT saying a Mini is a sports car, by ANY means) are impractical, simply because they have no room, but that is also what makes them more fun to drive. It's just you and the road, not 3 screaming kids and a wife in the car to distract you . :lol:

Exactly, MINI's are no more impractical than many other cars for enthusiasts. There are lots of us who don't have or need children. For practically my Fiance owns a small SUV. If we need to buy furniture we use her truck, if we need to take a nice drive we take the MINI.

If i was single and lived alone i would have stuff delivered, would still come out cheaper than buying a bigger vehicle i would use 5% of the time.

Lets see other vehicles that are as "impractical". 350z, Porsche Boxter, Mazda Miata, Pontiac Solstice, G35C, Chevy Aveo, Scion Xa, S2000, Audi TT.......

300mill americans. not all rich alot poor can afford one car or 2 crappy cars. mini would be impractical for alot of families. the mini is too over priced as i have already posted twice for alot of people. might be really fun to drive and alot of people might like them as track cars but MOST AMERICANS here in the UNITED STATES do not drive track cars. they drive cars from A -> B.

remember the SUVs that everyone complained about people actually only using in the urban jungle nd not actually offroading? same thing here. and secondly A-> B. any car can do that for cheaper and just as big. Aveo for instance.

For those of us track junkies on this site...we watch the MINI's carry more speed through the turns than most, and carry it off more effortlessly than most.

The difference is in the engineering. The "art" and safety of the car is just the icing on the cake!:thumbup:
