then a head package with porting, oversized valves, crane cam,ect.
I may just up my compression at the same time.
and am very interested in a short block.
also I am running focus central cam gears. but they aren't very light. I would like lighter adjustable cam gears.

p.s. what can i up my compression to and still run pump gas.?

Welp i'm deffinatly interested in the turbo system, but for now i will settle for:
1. Intake upgrade in powdercoat black w/the black sleves
2. The Balance Shaft Removal kit
3. The Narrow Gate Shifter
4. One piece steel Underdrive Pulley (in powdercoat black)
5. Possably the Header, not sure yet depending on the turbo
6. SCT tune when avalible

I couldn't get the text spacing exact, but that seems like what Walter is suggesting and it would be an improvement so long as the shift lever wasn't cut too low.

This is a very good representation of the effect. What makes it better is that you can use it in conjunction with your current or future short throw shifter!

Anything that increases TORQUE!!!! Since I don't hang out at the local drag strip much, I really enjoy the 0-60 at the stoplights!!

Keep some flexibility available to supply support for unforseen discoveries... eg the ISG flap needs a tune to work well.

I really like the ITB option, but it would have to be something that I could use on a daily driver without sacrificing too much on noise & low end torque.
The ITBs are for race use and kit cars, not daily drivers...

And there are other items that I may get elsewhere, like a focus central throttle body and... mmm... I'll think of more later... but generally the stuff that's more commonly available & hasn't needed special development.

SCT tuning would be nice but, to be honest, I'll probably go with FocusSport if they have it first. Just depends on who irons the wrinkles out first.

I'll be releasing dyno numbers on our advances with SCT tuning for the Duratec in the next week. Units will be available for purchase in the next few weeks.

I second Oreo's suggestion for a cat-equipped header. It'll make me sad to not see that awesome design that was shown on your website, but I'll deal. Long-tube, low-torque headers are a no-no. Either Tri-Y or something special like the old design.

I'll be building the two final prototypes for our header in the next few weeks. A large 4-2-1 and a 1-3/4" 4-1, that I hope will be on-par with the current unit on the car.

I think I'll go third on a header with a cat (something legal, even though I know the costs of trying to get CARB on stuff which would take any profit that you are making on your products and flush it down the drain.) I personally would like to get more power out of the car while trying to keep it as clean as possible.

Headers with a cat are not economically feasable. Also, there is little to no room for a cat and header tubes in there. Finally, an aftermarket header with a cat will be nearly impossible to make emissions legal, let alone affordable.

I like the idea of a 2.5" exhaust, but not sure about the real benefit as I haven't seen any dyno comparisons between 2.25 and 2.5 except for on the Zetec.

Please realize that this is not a Zetec, and as such this engine has vastly different airflow requirements. The though to test a 2.25 crossed my mind, and I let it keep on going. Remember, I'm currently running a 3" system which measures NO TORQUE LOSS vs. the 2.5" it replaced. A 2.25 system might be alright on the 2.0L and 2.3L ATX, but on an MTX car, any good 2.5" will make equal torque and better hp.

I would personally like to see a different model of CAI that somehow would get that thing farther away from the ground (have no idea how to make it work appropriately) but that way some of us wouldn't have to worry incessantly about puddles.

Puddles we can handle no problem, as is. Ponds, creeks, rivers, flooded roads, might pose an issue even with a stock filter. There is really no good way to move the filter up any higher without a totally new mass air flow housing design. Even then, it would be a mediocre design. I've intentionally tested my intake in 8" standing water on my car with an SVT bumper (open fog light hole in front of filter) and an H&R Cup Kit (2.7" lower than stock). The filter stayed dry driving through it at 15mph.

Elaborating on mievil's idea, perhaps a Volant-type pseudo-ram air setup? The MAF itself probably takes up too much room to intake from the upper grille, but perhaps the lower grille could be funneled into an airbox. That seems like it would eliminate any hydrolock problems.

On my car I have the SVT bumper cover, and simply remove the fog light for a bit of "ram air" with the stock filter shield. Ram air is not always the solution to a better induction system. Turbulance from a sealed ram air system can cause drivability problems on MAF equipped cars.

I don't need no fancy CARB certification on my header. Just stuff some Platinum and Rhodium into it and ship it on over.

As you are aware Walter, I'm looking for a n/a huge power setup. Pushing 230-250whp and taking the engine up to around 8000rpms. Built lower, strong head, agressive-quasi-race cams, lightweight strong internals, intake, tb, fuel rail, and injectors, big header, and all the tuning to go along.

Key parts from Cosworth will be available that we will be able to build upon nicely. I'll have more data available over the next 4-6 weeks on a barely streetable race package I've been working on.

My intentions are this: header, cams, tuning. After that possibly the underdrive pully, the one piece would be nice. I think a lot of people are worried about doing this mod. I doubt you'll get a huge interest in it. After those simple bolt ons, maybe I'll look into getting the Cosworth manifold, but to be honest it is hard to spend that much money on a piece that really won't deliver big gains on a simple "bolt-on" car.

I'd like to see some new camber plates that are resonably priced, maybe the $250 range or so. Maybe even sell new arms with the slotted ball joint, that would work in my book and I'm sure you'd have some people looking at that as an option. This also applies to all Focus', not just the Duratecs.

I am working on an extremely cost effective solution for the camber plates, that will work nicely and be SCCA/NASA legal in almost every instance. The only downfall is that they will not work with Focus Sport (or clone) strut tower bars.

If you could offer your 2.5" exhaust with a resonator and muffler, that would be good (ie. FS Stealth). I'm sure you'd pick up some business doing that. If not, a 2.5" to 2.25" downpipe would be nice for those of us who like and need to keep the cars somewhat civil.

Our 2.5" system will include a resonator and muffler just as our 3" system does. It is deeper by far, and quieter than the Borla system you heard on the car at Spring Mountain.

1. Some kind of upgrade to the air induction setup. MAF, throttlebody, air intake manifold. If you setup an upgrade package for al those together I would be 100% in.
The new HI-FLO "R" will include an 80mm MAF 3.5" upper tube and 4" lower tube with a monster K&N filter. It will require SCT tuning. It is being designed for use with the Cosworth manifold, 39lb/hr injectors, a larger TB, Cams, Compression, Ported Head, 1-3/4" Header and 3" Exhaust. This will be a part of our Touring Car level street package.

The best I can do for you is that I make every attempt to make sure that the parts I'm developing will work with an ATX, but I'll leave the ATX itself to Lentech. Now I can play with shift points and such in the SCT tuning...
