This is true. You can get the Street Appearance Package rear bumper for the 05-07 sedan which is just like the SVT rear bumper though.

I thought you just had to change the bumper (obviously), the taillights, and the trunklid. Or is there more to it?

 

Since the tails are a different shape, I do think you have to change the quarter panels as well, but I am not 100% certain of that.

 

I'm pretty sure the tails are only differently shaped where they line up with the trunk lid with the quarter panel line being the same. I remember reading a thread on FF a while ago where someone did the conversion and they just swapped parts. The only snag they ran into was the trunk lock because they're in such different spots IIRC. It's been soooo long since I've looked at anything but the for sale forum over there though :lol:

All you need to do the 05-07 SAP rear on a 00-04 is the tails, trunk lid, and bumper. The quarters are the same. What is different though, is the location of the key hole on the two trunk lids. Not exactly sure how to go about getting your 00-04 key to work with a new 05-07 trunk lid / lock mechanism.

did anyone ever get any information on getting the key to work with the locking mechanism on the SAP conversion...

wondering if i have a key to the doner car that the parts will come off of will help. or is it more complicated???
