I found my headliner material last night at WalMart. Am going to go by JoAnns tomorrow to see if they have the same fabric for cheaper.

Rick ... how in the hell do you get the OMG handles off so I can pull the headliner next week?
Rob, there are 2 holes in it that are covered up. Unclip the covers, and stick a flathead screwdriver in there. Twist the screwdriver 90 degrees and it should disengage the clip.
Be aware that if you use a thick headliner material, it is going to be a bitch trying to get those handles back on. The clip locks on the handles are very shallow, even putting the stock headliner back in, you have to beat it with a rubber hammer to get the locks engaged into the roof.

Thanks Pat. That is what I figured. I picked up five yards of material yesterday. Since I have all week off, I figured I might as well do some stuff to the car.

I need to finish the centerconsole and do the headliner. And I am going to start sanding the pillars down for paint.

Oh ... and clean the car. Man it needs a bath.

I really need to clean up my FoFo. It needs a really good bath, clay barring, buffing, waxing, interior detail.

I also need to re-wrinkle coat my center console, get my steering column audio controls working again, diagnose my random boost gauge initialization issue.

It basically just needs a nice long weekend of TLC.......followed by a solid thrashing :D

where the heck do you get the claybars?
:dunno: i cant find it at Advance Auto Parts

I have the next 3 days off if you want me to help

Hey Pat. Would love help pulling the headliner. I have zero patience and know I will likely get frustrated while pulling it out. Heh.

What do you guys think is going to be the best way to do the pillers? Just a light sanding to get the promoter/primer/paint to stick ... or shoulld I smooth them down and then pint ... or high build primer then smooth and paint?

Pat ... if you want to head out while you are off, feel free. Call Christina, 2289206. She can give you the apartment info.

I am going to head out and start pulling the visors and such now.

And Wal-mart has 2 or 3 claybar kits too...

Once you guys get Rob's headliner done we need to do mine :D

Ok got my tint. HUGE difference as you can see

And I decided to do a mini-project. Only took 10 minutes and about 7 bucks worth of material. I added another 12v power source but its hidden in the glove box. I got the idea thinking about how I would plug in multiple 12v cords (GPS, Radar detector, Cell Charger) but not have a huge "wart" sticking out of my dash socket. Just had to do a little crimping.
