Glad it worked out for ya bro. Even more glad that I caught ya before you hit the road. You may have made it to Tally but not if you had been using lights, the fan or the A/C. Got the core turned back in no prob. Oh and thanks for the brews! Enjoying one right now as I type.
After you left the Mrs, and I went to go pick our Mazda. Wasn't done correctly. The paint work was flawless and that's where I usually find problems with insurance work but this time is was the bumper itself. The adjuster wrote the repair order up to overhaul the rear bumper, not replace it. Even though they did overhaul it - and I'll admit it was a damn good job for what they had to work with - it wasn't perfect. You could clearly see a high point and a scallop in the bumper cover in daylight......something that was probably easy enough to miss under fluorescent lamps. They collision place was super cool about it though and apologized for not seeing it and not repairing it correctly the first time. The manager said she would call the State Farm (the at fault driver's insurance) and have them come back out to reassess. She also said she would lean on them to write it as a cover replacement not repair.
FWIW to all of you, I am absolutely disgusted with the service I received from State Farm during this whole thing. Maybe they treat their own customers better but all the other times I've been hit by someone I've dealt with Geico, Progressive, and USAA. All of those previous times have been smooth and hassle free. Trying to get this done with State Farm has been very very aggravating. They haven't returned calls, they called Melissa a liar when she submitted a claim for her back being F'd up, It took a week and a half for them to mail me a check. Mail me a check? WTF do I want the check for? Pay the damn collision place, not me! Seriously. If you ever get hit by someone AND you have full coverage on your car AND they have State Farm, call YOUR insurance company, file a claim and tell them you want them to "subrogate" the claim. That means YOUR insurance company handles all of the estimates, repairs, rental, and bull****. You will have to pay your collision deductible but you will get it back once your insurance company goes after the at faulty party's insurance provider to pay for it.
But on the positive side, it looks like I've found myself a body shop if I ever need paint work done......Tom Bush Collision on Atlantic. Seriously the respray on the bumper was flawless and the blend they did on the quarter panel was undetectable. Really First Class.
