May be A LOT of effort. Would need the CDFP and a way to tune.
It would require the Mazda disi 2.3 head too

300hp should be easy with the 2.5L, I've seen a 2.3 get awful close with a custom manifold instead of itb's and using crane 4's.

Still no electricity at the shop because of Irene

Im curious...whats does the duratec have that the zetec doesnt that allows the COP to work properly under boost? I know this is an N/A build, but still curious...

The computer is set up to run that way to begin with. I think the part of the problem comes down to voltage. All of these COP "hacks" aren't supplying enough voltage to the coils for a proper spark. We tried a set of duratec coils on my car back in December and it wouldn't even make 300whp before it was blowing the spark out.

It might but why would you want to mess with it? With stock zetec coil and wires making 600+ I dont see the point yet. When I find the limit of the stock pieces I will worry with it then.

sooooo stoked on this build cant wait to pics/vids/dyno sheets... on a side note...

I may never understand how Honda guys can be so arrogant about their "all motor" superiority... whens the last time you saw a lotus7 or caterham with B or K series motor? im not sayin there arent kit cars such as this with Honda motors but zetec's RULED that market until the Dura's came along which are still Ford lol... fact of the matter being the zetec is still a highly prefered option in this style of car...

Looking forward to how this turns out.

Would love to see an update. Not much out there about building up a Duratec 2.5 4 cyl.
