Water dripping on passenger side

Tonight my room mate noticed that water was dripping on his feet as I was driving. He was sitting in the passenger seat. I couldn't identify the source of water, and there doesn't seem to be a lot of it. Does anyone know where the water/liquid might be coming from? Is this something to worry about?

If its antifrese it will feel slippery when he walks. Most likely it is condensation that has backed up in the AC system. It is a problem on a lot of ford cars. The drain for it gets plugged and hold water that eventually makes its way to the passenger floor. Sometimes you can see the dripping. Its an easy fix, though the dealer did mine.

I had a leak and wound up with an inch of water in my passenger footwell after a rain storm. Caused by failure in the cowl's seal to the windshield (on the outside) due to warping, I guess. I think this lets water in through the cabin air filter.

Also have a seal failure on the driver's side, but this doesn't cause leaks.

I've had this problem in my 04.
It is the heater, I took it in after my passanger side kept getting very wet. They put in a redesigned part and everything was good as new.

It could be a mixture of either the cowl seal and/or the heater.

Earlier Focus models had a problem with both...mainly with the cowl seal though. The water would slip through and past the heater core.

In any case, a nuisanse really...warranty work.

Answer!!!

I just had this repaired - its the casing for the evaporator. When the AC runs, it sweats humidity out of the air. This collects in the evaporator. If the casing is bad, it leaks onto the pasenger-side carpet. Dunno if yer under warranty, cause its covered.

Plus, my dealer said to always use the "recuirculate" setting for AC, cause it cuts down on the humidity the evaporator has to deal with.

Re: Answer!!!

Did it have anything to do with a wet windshield? I had the same kind of problem. It was rain-related, but only happend when the car was pointed uphill or downhill, don't remember which one... Anyway, I fixed the leak myself. There was a foil covering under the windshield cowl that had a split in it. I just glued it back up. LAME ford part. What engineer thought aluminum foil was a good seal? Sheesh.
